Back in the Day: Downtown Showdown//Long Beach
Let it be noted that this was a solid 2 years ago. March 13, 2010 at Bixby Park (AKA Chery Park) to be exact. Many of the names that we all know today are riding at this comp. There were few competitions back in the early days of fixed gear freestyle so this one was important. We see many of the tricks that these riders have more than mastered today and they continue to push the game. Riders like Jakob Antone Santos, Matt Spencer, Marwin Ou, Sean Coats, Congo, and many more.
As you could probably tell the bikes were still more reminiscent of track bikes with positive bottom brackets, straight top tubes, and 700c wheels (you even see some cats with 650s in the front). All has changed now with sloping top tubes, tighter geometry, wider bars, better bar spin clearance, and 26″ wheels (there is even talk about 24″ wheels).

Sunday Sesh April First Twenty Twelve
This week’s Sunday Sesh was small but very productive. This week I had only the team come out and some of their friends. I know a bunch of more people wanted to come and we will do a bigger ride when filming is over
We hit up a bunch of spots around Long Beach and got some incredible footage. Elliott will be dropping a new edit soon that will include something HUGE! I had some time between filming to take some shots so enjoy!
